—

FAQs
Is Pink Blocker the same as a red blocker?
Yes. Pink Blocker is designed to counteract the red/pink undertones in woods like Red Oak, so the two terms refer to the same product.
What is Pink Blocker 2C?
Pink Blocker 2C is a professional wood pre-treatment designed to reduce the pink, red, and salmon undertones commonly found in red oak. It creates a more neutral base before applying the final wood finish.
Can Pink Blocker 2C make red oak look like white oak?
Pink Blocker 2C can help red oak look much closer to white oak by neutralizing its natural pink and red tones. It does not change the wood species or grain, but it makes a white oak-style finish much easier to achieve.
Can I apply a finish over Pink Blocker 2C?
Yes. Pink Blocker 2C must be followed with a compatible protective finish. It can be used before recommended Ciranova systems such as Magic Oil, Titan, or other compatible finishes depending on the desired look and performance.
Should I test Pink Blocker 2C before using it on the whole floor?
Yes. Always make a sample on the actual red oak using the same sanding sequence, Pink Blocker 2C application, and final finish. Red oak varies, and testing is the best way to confirm the final color.
What is the best way to make red oak less pink?
The best way is to sand the floor properly, apply Pink Blocker 2C to neutralize the red/pink undertone, and then finish with a compatible oil or coating system. This helps create a cleaner natural, white oak, or neutral oak look.
