COMPLETE THE SYSTEM

Build protection in the correct sequence.

Preparation, primer, finish and compatible care work together to control appearance and performance.

Professional wood finishing

Specify the whole system.

The final result depends on the wood, preparation, application, and compatible finishing system. Remove uncertainty before the full project.

  1. 01

    Test the actual wood

Species, tannin content, grain, and sanding can materially change color and absorption.

  2. 02

    Calculate the system

Confirm coverage, number of coats, hardener ratio, tools, and site conditions before ordering.

  3. 03

    Follow technical data

Use the current preparation, application, drying, and maintenance instructions for the selected product.

Product application guide

Product field guide

Open each relevant step for product-specific preparation, application, finishing and long-term care. Only applicable stages are shown.

Preparation

Make sure that all old finish coats are completely removed and that the wood is free from dust and other dirt. Can be used on sanded, planed, and brushed wood. For a lighter and more natural finish, ECOFIX WOODLOOK can be used as a primer first. For floor heating, exotic wood types and cork, the FORTICO sealer is recommended as a primer.

Application

Mix thoroughly with Fortico hardener and allow the mixture to rest before applying. Distribute each coat evenly with a brush or roller and let it dry before continuing. Sand before the final coat, then remove all dust. Use the drying times and sanding grit listed in the technical table for your selected finish: Matt/Satin and Natural have separate instructions.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance with Ciranova® Hard Floor Fresh. Use UNICARE X-MATT or Hard Floor Polish for periodic maintenance. Ciranova®Hard Floor Cleaner is used for cleaning highly soiled floors and to remove old layers of polish.
