Ciranova® Aquapad is a water-based color stain based on micro pigments for staining all types of wood for indoor use. Aquapad gives the wood a uniform look and brings out the wood grain. Because of its special composition and ease-of-use, Aquapad is especially suitable for staining large surfaces with a buffing machine. If you want to finish the Aquapad with a waterborne finish or waterborne oil, a hardener needs to be added to the Aquapad.
» Provides a uniform coloring that accentuates the grain of the wood.
» Can be finished afterwards with oil or waterborne finish.
» Colors can be mixed with one another
Make sure that all old finish coats are completely removed and that the wood is free from dust and other dirt. Can be used on sanded, planed, and brushed wood. Pre-wetting the wood can reduce the risk of overlapping.
Stir and shake well before and during use. For a finish with a waterborne finish or water-based oil from the Ciranova® range, a hardener needs to be added (10% hardener Aquapad). If the hardener is added, you have maximum a potlife of +/- 3 hours.
Aquapad must be evenly applied with a buffing machine. If the Aquapad is applied with brush or roller, you should even out with cloth or dry brush afterwards.
You can optionally smoothen the surface with a buffing pad after it has fully dried. Afterwards, the surface should be made dust free, after which the Aquapad can be finished with an waterborne oil or waterborne finish from the Ciranova® product line. When using a waterborne finish it is recommended to intermediately sand before applying the last protective layer.
